Elsien Gringhuis

She won the award for “Best Avant-Garde” at the Createurope’s Fashion Academy Awards. This were because of her experimental shapes, boxy silhouettes and strict lines. The judges felt that Gringhuis presented “progressive fashion designs which were trend-setting and future oriented”.

British Fashion Awards

Luella Bartley was named Designer of the Year Tuesday night at the annual British Fashion Awards held in London’s Westminster, as Christopher Bailey, creative director for Burberry, took the top Menswear designer prize for the second year running.

Sandra Backlund

I´ve mentioned her before, but she deserves another post. This is her latest collection, and I´m amazed at how she keeps on making extraordinary lovely knits.

Russian Red – Cigarettes

I really like this artist. I found her browsing through the internet and I´m really impressed. I love the music-video for the song “Cigarettes”, and I think she combines the music with a fashion aspect in a very special way.

Since Alexander Wang put ripped tights on his models it has become a trend for the masses. But when the Sartorialist has a picture of the trend at his blog, it obviously has made it as sartorial elegance.
